Oil and Gas stocks edge lower

Oil and Gas stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index decreasing 174.14 points or 1.13% at 15277.97 at 13:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 2.73%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 2.53%),GAIL (India) Ltd (down 2.37%),Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 2.06%),Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (down 1.3%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (down 1.07%), and Reliance Industries Ltd (down 0.43%).

On the other hand, Castrol India Ltd (up 2.66%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 1.78%), and Petronet LNG Ltd (up 1.31%) turned up.

 

At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 12.05 or 0.03% at 40663.69.

The Nifty 50 index was down 10.5 points or 0.09% at 11988.6.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 10.72 points or 0.08% at 13403.71.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 12.52 points or 0.27% at 4684.57.

On BSE,1079 shares were trading in green, 1281 were trading in red and 192 were unchanged.
