Metal shares rise

Metal stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Metal index rising 86.47 points or 0.87% at 10027.29 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Metal index, Tata Steel Ltd (up 1.96%), Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (up 1.58%),JSW Steel Ltd (up 1.53%),Steel Authority of India Ltd (up 1.22%),Vedanta Ltd (up 0.98%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were NMDC Ltd (up 0.81%), Hindustan Zinc Ltd (up 0.72%), National Aluminium Company Ltd (up 0.71%), and Hindalco Industries Ltd (up 0.56%).

On the other hand, Coal India Ltd (down 0.2%), moved lower.

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 100.64 or 0.24% at 41452.81.

 

The Nifty 50 index was up 29.6 points or 0.24% at 12194.6.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 44.67 points or 0.33% at 13438.44.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 6.56 points or 0.14% at 4715.55.

On BSE,800 shares were trading in green, 507 were trading in red and 76 were unchanged.
