Metal shares slide

Metal stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Metal index falling 69.66 points or 0.71% at 9719.09 at 13:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Metal index, National Aluminium Company Ltd (down 2.41%), Steel Authority of India Ltd (down 2.09%),Jindal Steel & Power Ltd (down 1.44%),JSW Steel Ltd (down 1.18%),Vedanta Ltd (down 1.17%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Tata Steel Ltd (down 0.8%), Coal India Ltd (down 0.48%), and Hindalco Industries Ltd (down 0.22%).

On the other hand, NMDC Ltd (up 0.7%), and Hindustan Zinc Ltd (up 0.41%) moved up.

At 13:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 83.75 or 0.2% at 41093.46.

 

The Nifty 50 index was up 12.7 points or 0.11% at 12099.4.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 20.13 points or 0.15% at 13352.79.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 1.03 points or 0.02% at 4708.05.

On BSE,1084 shares were trading in green, 1198 were trading in red and 177 were unchanged.
