Oil and Gas shares gain

Oil and Gas stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index rising 90.18 points or 0.81% at 11235.97 at 09:53 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 2.05%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 1.64%),Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 1.23%),Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 1%),Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 0.68%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Petronet LNG Ltd (up 0.67%), GAIL (India) Ltd (up 0.35%), Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 0.33%), and Reliance Industries Ltd (up 0.1%).

On the other hand, Castrol India Ltd (down 1%), moved lower.

 

At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 169.38 or 0.54% at 30953.51.

The Nifty 50 index was down 25.9 points or 0.28% at 9116.85.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 14.16 points or 0.13% at 10720.64.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 9.89 points or 0.26% at 3810.01.

On BSE,719 shares were trading in green, 622 were trading in red and 82 were unchanged.
