Oil and Gas stocks edge higher
Oil and Gas stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index increasing 262.82 points or 2.27% at 11853.98 at 09:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 5.81%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 3.56%),Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 3.21%),GAIL (India) Ltd (up 2.09%),Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 2.01%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Petronet LNG Ltd (up 1.26%), Reliance Industries Ltd (up 1.16%), Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 0.7%), Castrol India Ltd (up 0.6%), and Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 0.45%).
At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 346.88 or 1.09% at 32062.23.
The Nifty 50 index was up 129.8 points or 1.4% at 9423.3.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 119.38 points or 1.11% at 10872.96.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 43.54 points or 1.15% at 3819.24.
On BSE,1101 shares were trading in green, 362 were trading in red and 74 were unchanged.
