Oil and Gas stocks edge lower
Oil and Gas stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index decreasing 242.76 points or 1.43% at 16732.27 at 13:49 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, Adani Total Gas Ltd (down 5%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 1.58%),Reliance Industries Ltd (down 1.41%),Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (down 1.11%),Petronet LNG Ltd (down 0.85%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Indraprastha Gas Ltd (down 0.77%), Gujarat Gas Ltd (down 0.71%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (down 0.69%), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (down 0.62%), and GAIL (India) Ltd (down 0.46%).
At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 423.87 or 0.81% at 52729.95.
The Nifty 50 index was up 109.8 points or 0.7% at 15796.75.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 22.23 points or 0.09% at 24930.39.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 12.25 points or 0.16% at 7713.91.
On BSE,1474 shares were trading in green, 1641 were trading in red and 142 were unchanged.
