Power stocks edge lower
Power stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Power index decreasing 33.42 points or 1.8% at 1818.31 at 13:52 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, NHPC Ltd (down 6.17%), Adani Transmission Ltd (down 3.42%),Tata Power Company Ltd (down 2.98%),Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (down 2.9%),K E C International Ltd (down 2.86%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were NTPC Ltd (down 1.99%), Adani Power Ltd (down 1.43%), CESC Ltd (down 1.42%), Siemens Ltd (down 1.28%), and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 1.03%).
On the other hand, Torrent Power Ltd (up 1.23%), turned up.
At 13:52 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 120.69 or 0.29% at 41137.05.
The Nifty 50 index was down 44.55 points or 0.37% at 12068.9.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 106.79 points or 0.73% at 14575.86.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 24.13 points or 0.48% at 5037.72.
On BSE,793 shares were trading in green, 1606 were trading in red and 170 were unchanged.
