Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index declines 2.42%

Nifty Auto index ended down 2.42% at 4938.7 today. The index is down 31.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Hero MotoCorp Ltd slipped 7.81%, Bharat Forge Ltd dropped 6.93% and TVS Motor Company Ltd shed 5.71%. The Nifty Auto index is down 40.00% over last one year compared to the 25.15% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Bank index added 1.81% and Nifty Private Bank index gained 1.72% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.22% to close at 8660.25 while the SENSEX is down 0.44% to close at 29815.59 today.
