Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index rises 1.34%

Nifty Auto index closed up 1.34% at 10540.45 today. The index is up 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Maruti Suzuki India Ltd added 5.30%, Balkrishna Industries Ltd shed 1.70% and Bharat Forge Ltd jumped 1.59%. The Nifty Auto index is up 57.00% over last one year compared to the 52.97% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index is down 0.68% and Nifty Commodities index added 0.64% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.17% to close at 15772.75 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.03% to close at 52588.71 today.
