Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index rises 2.61%

Nifty Auto index closed up 2.61% at 5749.9 today. The index is up 9.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Ashok Leyland Ltd gained 6.34%, Amara Raja Batteries Ltd jumped 4.82% and Hero MotoCorp Ltd rose 4.74%. The Nifty Auto index is down 30.00% over last one year compared to the 22.42% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty FMCG index added 2.19% and Nifty Consumption index added 1.98% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.44% to close at 9106.25 while the SENSEX added 0.37% to close at 30932.9 today.
