Quick Wrap: Nifty Energy Index declines 1.32%

Nifty Energy index ended down 1.32% at 14533.45 today. The index is down 0.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd slipped 6.99%, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd fell 5.72% and Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd gained 1.44%. The Nifty Energy index is down 8.00% over last one year compared to the 4.44% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index is down 1.28% and Nifty Commodities index has slid 0.99% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.65% to close at 11003.5 while the SENSEX is down 0.70% to close at 37123.31 today.
