Quick Wrap: Nifty Energy Index rises 2.24%

Nifty Energy index closed up 2.24% at 14727.15 today. The index is up 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd gained 6.34%, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd jumped 4.58% and Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd added 3.24%. The Nifty Energy index is down 6.00% over last one year compared to the 2.59% decline in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSE index added 2.12% and Nifty Commodities index increased 1.86% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.85% to close at 11075.9 while the SENSEX added 0.76% to close at 37384.99 today.
