Quick Wrap: Nifty FMCG Index records a surge of 1.28%

Nifty FMCG index ended up 1.28% at 32844 today. The index has added 6.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, United Breweries Ltd jumped 2.40%, ITC Ltd gained 2.25% and GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare Ltd rose 2.02%. The Nifty FMCG index has increased 28.00% over last one year compared to the 18.13% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Pharma index increased 1.12% and Nifty Metal index added 0.85% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 is down 0.13% to close at 11676.8 while the SENSEX has declined 0.08% to close at 38690.1 today.
