Quick Wrap: Nifty FMCG Index rises 2.53%

Nifty FMCG index closed up 2.53% at 30828.2 today. The index is down 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Godrej Consumer Products Ltd added 3.99%, GlaxoSmithkline Consumer Healthcare Ltd jumped 3.56% and ITC Ltd gained 3.23%. The Nifty FMCG index is up 19.00% over last one year compared to the 12.65% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index added 1.48% and Nifty MNC index increased 1.28% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.73% to close at 11369.9 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.81% to close at 37717.96 today.
