Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index falls 3.16%, NIFTY Crashes 1.43%

Nifty IT index closed down 3.16% at 14476.85 today. The index has slipped 10.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Mindtree Ltd dropped 16.77%, HCL Technologies Ltd shed 6.42% and Tech Mahindra Ltd fell 4.12%. The Nifty IT index has soared 33.00% over last one year compared to the 1.55% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Energy index has dropped 2.72% and Nifty Media index is down 2.11% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has dropped 1.43% to close at 10303.55 while the SENSEX has slid 1.33% to close at 34315.63 today.
