Quick Wrap: Nifty IT Index rises 2.85%

Nifty IT index closed up 2.85% at 15662.05 today. The index is down 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Infosys Ltd gained 7.24%, Tata Elxsi Ltd fell 3.88% and Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd rose 2.70%. The Nifty IT index is up 8.00% over last one year compared to the 5.17% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index is down 2.56% and Nifty Pharma index increased 1.07% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.31% to close at 11588.35 while the SENSEX added 0.41% to close at 38896.71 today.
