Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index falls 2.18%

Nifty Media index ended down 2.18% at 2169.55 today. The index has gained 6.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, PVR Ltd shed 4.35%, Inox Leisure Ltd fell 2.69% and TV18 Broadcast Ltd dropped 2.16%. The Nifty Media index has soared 12.00% over last one year compared to the 2.04% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty IT index has dropped 1.43% and Nifty Pharma index has slid 1.29% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.70% to close at 17877.4 while the SENSEX has dropped 0.68% to close at 59934.01 today.
