Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index gains 1.93%

Nifty Media index closed up 1.93% at 2556.15 today. The index has gained 1.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd added 5.08%, Sun TV Network Ltd rose 4.96% and TV18 Broadcast Ltd gained 2.40%. The Nifty Media index has fallen 26.00% over last one year compared to the 3.65% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Pharma index gained 1.71% and Nifty Financial Services index added 1.11% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.74% to close at 10859.9 while the SENSEX recorded a gain of 0.75% to close at 36076.72 today.
