Quick Wrap: Nifty Media Index rises 2.10%

Nifty Media index closed up 2.10% at 1822.2 today. The index is up 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, TV18 Broadcast Ltd gained 14.49%, Jump Networks Ltd shed 9.56% and Network 18 Media & Investments Ltd added 4.88%. The Nifty Media index is down 26.00% over last one year compared to the 15.13% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty FMCG index added 1.41% and Nifty Metal index added 0.92% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.27% to close at 12362.3 while the SENSEX added 0.22% to close at 41952.63 today.
