Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index declines 2.64%

Nifty Metal index ended down 2.64% at 2453.95 today. The index is up 10.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, MOIL Ltd gained 7.25%, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd dropped 5.47% and Vedanta Ltd shed 5.33%. The Nifty Metal index is down 33.00% over last one year compared to the 4.87% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Realty index is down 2.28% and Nifty Pharma index has dropped 2.06% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has slid 0.51% to close at 11512.4 while the SENSEX is down 0.43% to close at 38822.57 today.
