Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index falls 1.36%

Nifty Metal index ended down 1.36% at 2591.1 today. The index has gained 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Steel Authority of India Ltd shed 2.83%, National Aluminium Company Ltd fell 2.64% and Coal India Ltd slipped 1.86%. The Nifty Metal index has fallen 17.00% over last one year compared to the 11.55% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty FMCG index has dropped 1.26% and Nifty Consumption index has slid 1.03% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 0.27% to close at 12053.95 while the SENSEX has dropped 0.17% to close at 40938.72 today.
