Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index gains 2.36%

Nifty Metal index ended up 2.36% at 2568.8 today. The index has slipped 2.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Steel Authority of India Ltd rose 4.19%, Vedanta Ltd jumped 3.97% and Tata Steel Ltd gained 3.24%. The Nifty Metal index has fallen 18.00% over last one year compared to the 11.49% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index gained 2.23% and Nifty Auto index gained 1.32% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 increased 0.52% to close at 11971.8 while the SENSEX increased 0.42% to close at 40581.71 today.
