Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index registers a drop of 2.25%, NIFTY Crashes 1.11%

Nifty Metal index closed down 2.25% at 2960.4 today. The index has lost 9.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Jindal Steel & Power Ltd fell 7.40%, Jindal Stainless (Hisar) Ltd shed 4.82% and NMDC Ltd slipped 3.00%. The Nifty Metal index has decreased 26.00% over last one year compared to the 2.19% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Commodities index has slid 2.02% and Nifty Media index has slid 1.92% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 has declined 1.11% to close at 10672.25 while the SENSEX has declined 1.05% to close at 35513.71 today.
