Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index registers a drop of 3.13%, NIFTY Crashes 1.24%

Nifty Metal index closed down 3.13% at 2507.05 today. The index has lost 16.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Vedanta Ltd fell 5.61%, JSW Steel Ltd slipped 5.14% and Jindal Steel & Power Ltd dropped 4.77%. The Nifty Metal index has decreased 24.00% over last one year compared to the 3.23% fall in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Media index has slid 3.12% and Nifty PSU Bank index is down 2.62% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 is down 1.24% to close at 10980 while the SENSEX has declined 1.23% to close at 37018.32 today.
