Quick Wrap: Nifty Metal Index rises 2.64%

Nifty Metal index closed up 2.64% at 2869.9 today. The index is up 12.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Hindustan Copper Ltd gained 19.90%, Steel Authority of India Ltd jumped 10.14% and National Aluminium Company Ltd rose 6.37%. The Nifty Metal index is down 5.00% over last one year compared to the 13.80% surge in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty PSU Bank index added 1.99% and Nifty Commodities index increased 1.82% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.82% to close at 12282.2 while the SENSEX added 0.76% to close at 41620.33 today.
