Quick Wrap: Nifty Pharma Index records a surge of 2.61%

Nifty Pharma index ended up 2.61% at 9774.1 today. The index has lost 8.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Lupin Ltd jumped 4.79%, Dr Reddys Laboratories Ltd added 4.75% and Cipla Ltd gained 4.01%. The Nifty Pharma index has increased 2.00% over last one year compared to the 3.39% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty IT index increased 1.77% and Nifty Media index added 1.30% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 recorded a gain of 0.38% to close at 10512.5 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.38% to close at 34865.1 today.
