Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 3.28%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 3.28% at 2457.35 today. The index has added 14.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Central Bank of India jumped 8.53%, State Bank of India gained 5.20% and Bank of India added 4.68%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has decreased 16.00% over last one year compared to the 12.04% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Pharma index increased 1.70% and Nifty Bank index added 0.84% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 added 0.20% to close at 11895.45 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.17% to close at 40356.69 today.
