Quick Wrap: Nifty PSU Bank Index records a surge of 3.38%

Nifty PSU Bank index ended up 3.38% at 2300.4 today. The index has lost 3.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, State Bank of India jumped 7.26%, Union Bank of India added 3.89% and Bank of India rose 2.81%. The Nifty PSU Bank index has decreased 11.00% over last one year compared to the 14.41% spike in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Bank index increased 0.99% and Nifty IT index increased 0.79% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.01% to close at 11583.9 while the SENSEX witnessed a rise of 0.10% to close at 39058.06 today.
