Telecom shares gain

Telecom stocks were trading in the positive zone, with the S&P BSE Telecom index rising 8.61 points or 0.73% at 1190.11 at 09:48 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Telecom index, Vodafone Idea Ltd (up 12.96%), Bharti Infratel Ltd (up 4.12%), and Tejas Networks Ltd (up 1.8%), were the top gainers.

On the other hand, Reliance Communications Ltd (down 4.49%), ITI Ltd (down 2.77%), and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (down 2.65%) moved lower.

At 09:48 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 22.05 or 0.05% at 41506.86.

The Nifty 50 index was down 4.85 points or 0.04% at 12219.7.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 14.14 points or 0.1% at 14665.31.

 

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 4.08 points or 0.08% at 5025.54.

On BSE,709 shares were trading in green, 718 were trading in red and 76 were unchanged.
