10 killed in Somalia blast

Ten people were killed in a bomb explosion near a former Somalia air force academy in Mogadishu on Saturday, police said.

According to the police, most of the victims were civilians. The number of those injured was not yet clear.

"Somali forces are already on the ground conducting investigations," Xinhua news agency quoted the official as saying.

The explosion ripped through the market causing mayhem as people ran for safety, an eyewitness said.
