Amarinder urges Sushma to discuss Kartarpur corridor issue with Pakistan

on Friday urged Union to take up the issue of opening of the corridor from to Sahib with the government.

In a letter the said that Sahib, which lies four km westwards from in Gurdaspur district of Punjab, on the side was one of the most revered religious places for Sikhs as Dev had spent a large part of his life there.

Amarinder said the government had, time and again, requested the to take up with the government the issue of opening a corridor from the international border to Sahib.

Referring to the 550th Birth Anniversary of Dev being observed in November 2019, the apprised the that the Assembly had passed a unanimous resolution on August 27, seeking an uninterrupted opening of the corridor.

It was at the Kartarpur that Dev spent 18 years of his life till he died in 1539.
