With a security threat looming over the capital and "intelligence inputs" pointing to a possible terror attack at the Delhi High Court, Chief Justice G. Rohini and other senior judges have requested the bar council to defer its special GBM to after the Republic Day (Jan 26).

The judges asked the Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) to defer its special General Body Meeting, slated for Monday, to after the Republic Day.

A statement issued by DHCBA said: "In view of the intelligence input regarding grave security threat to DHCBA and in view of that fact that Delhi is under red alert these days, Chief Justice G. Rohini and the other senior judges of the high court had an emergent meeting expressing concern over the situation and desiring deferment of the Special General Body meeting convened by DHCBA to date after Jan 26, 2015."

"Security of the court is a matter of primary concern and cannot be compromised particularly due to the threat of a possible attack," it added.

Security has been beefed up across the national capital from few days due to possible terror attack as indicated by intelligence agencies.
