Eiffel Tower evacuated after bomb alert

The iconic Eiffel Tower was Friday evacuated over a bomb alert, but was reopened to the public two hours later after authorities said the threat was fake, a media report said.
Visitors to the world famous 324-metre-high monument were evacuated around 2.30 p.m. following the bomb threat, Xinhua reported.
The tower was reopened to the public at 4.30 p.m. after police conducted an examination.
The monument is a frequent subject to bomb scares, although these threats are usually found to be hoaxes.
The last bomb threat to the tower was on March 30.
