Ex-MLA gets bail in BJP leader's murder case

Former Sahibabad MLA and Congress leader Amar Pal Sharma, who was arrested in connection with the murder of BJP leader Gajendra Bhati, got bail from the Allahabad High Court on Wednesday, officials said.

Bhati was murdered on September 2, 2017 in Khoda locality, bordering Delhi.

Solving the murder case, Ghaziabad police arrested sharpshooters Narendra Gurjar alias Narendra Fauzi and Raju -- two contract killers, who killed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader for Rs 10 lakh.

Narendra Gurjar, who had been the security officer of Sharma, confessed that he along with Raju killed Bhati at the behest of the former legislator.

 

Sharma had represented Sahibabad constituency in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly.
