Gunfight in Kashmir Valley

A gunfight erupted on Monday evening between security forces and militants in Jammu and Kashmir Pulwama district.

Police said the Rashtriya Rifles, Special Operations Group of the police and the Central Reserve Police Force laid a cordon around Aglar village following a tip that militants were hiding there.

"As the security forces neared the militants, they were fired upon, triggering an encounter which is going on," a police officer said.
