Actress Gwyneth Paltrow prefers to give out personalised handmade gifts rather than giving something bought from stores on occassions like Christmas.
She believes that people feel nicer when they open something which has been specially made for them.
"I think it's really nice that when someone opens a gift it has something personal. Last year I gave everyone these beautiful homemade cutting boards, everyone in the family's name was engraved on one side," contactmusic.com quoted Paltrow as saying.
The "Iron Man" actress has been married to British singer Chris Martin since December 2003.
