Jayalalithaa in 'grave situation', says Apollo

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa is in a "grave situation", Apollo Hospitals said on Monday.

The hospital tweeted: "Despite our best efforts, our beloved CM remains in a grave situation."

The tweet comes soon after the hospital issued a statement saying the AIADMK leader's condition was "very critical".

The 68-year-old Jayalalithaa, who has been in hospital since September, suffered a cardiac arrest on Sunday evening.
