Jharkhand assembly bypoll on December 14

The bypoll to the Jharkhand assembly from the Lohardagga constituency will take place on December 14, the Election Commission announced on Friday. Vote count will take place on December 17.

The seat fell vacant after All Jharkhand Students Union legislator Kamla Kishore Bhagat was sentenced to seven years in jail in a case related to extortion and attempt to murder. He was disqualified from the assembly in July.
