"Chief Minister has given his approval to recommend probe into the death of Dr. Mamta Rai," said a government press release.

Mamta, a resident of Seraikela-Kharsawan district of Jharkhand, who had gone to Kochi, was found dead in a hotel.

The family members demanded a (CBI) probe into the doctor's death, as they suspect that a doctor-friend of the deceased was behind her death.

She was doing her post-graduation from AIIMS in dermatology and had gone to to take part in an academic conference. Her body was found hanging from the ceiling fan of the hotel room in January this year.
