Trinamool Congress's opposition to Centre's land ordinance and GST is dictated by its anger at the CBI's arrest of top leaders of the party for alleged involvement in the Saradha multi-crore chit fund scam, BJP Bengal president Rahul Sinha today said.

The state government would not implement the two only at its peril because both the land ordinance and the GST were favourable to farmers, Sinha observed. "The TMC is shedding crocodile tears over farmers, but what about the Singur land which they promised will be returned? Neither did it allow the factory to come up, nor was it able to return the land," Sinha pointed out.

Lashing out at the state's industrial policy which, he said, had failed to attract investment in the last three years, Sinha pointed out the discrepancy in the investment figures put out by two industry ministers - one former and the other present. "In the last three years not a single investment or industry has come to Bengal. Former industry minister Partha Chatterjee gave a figure of investments, now present industry minister Amit Mitra is giving another figure. This shows the discrepancy," Sinha said.
