10 killed in deadly road accident in Egypt

At least 10 persons were killed and dozens severely injured today after a bus overturned in Sinai peninsula.

The bus was carrying tens of students of Alexandria university who were heading to Nuiba in a trip to spend midterm vacation.

The injured were transferred to to Sharm Al-Sheikh International hospital. The sources said that the number of deaths may increase as some injured are in critical cases.

The reason of the accident was not immediately revealed.

Egypt has one of the world's highest accident rates owing to careless driving and poor road and vehicle conditions.

The WHO ranks Egypt as the world's tenth worst country in road accidents, after India, China and the US.
