11 Kakinada residents pledge to donate bodies after death

Eleven people from East Godavari district have pledged to donate their bodies after death to a medical college in Kakinada.

The 11 members of the local chapter of Lions Club yesterday pledged to donate their bodies, during a programme held at Rangaraya Medical College in Kakinada, nearly 60 kms from here.

Addressing the gathering, a senior official of a local organisation promoting organ donation expressed happiness that people in Kakinada city were coming forward to take a pledge to donate their body parts after death.

On the occasion, a short film on the importance of organ donation was also screened for students.
