125 stranded passengers rescued

As many as 125 people, stranded on Mughal Road in Jammu and Kashmir due to fresh snowfall, were rescued by authorities today.

The Shopian administration rescued 125 passengers who were stranded at Pir-ki-Gali on Mughal road due to snowing on May 14, an official spokesman said.

They were on way from Poonch to Shopian via Mughal road and the vehicles could not move from Pir-ki-Gali due to slippery road.

The authorities also rescued the livestock of Gujjar and Bakerwals, the spokesman said.
