18 PCF employees suspended for laxity

Uttar Pradesh Co-operative Minister Shivpal Singh Yadav placed the officers under suspension for alleged discrepancies in wheat purchase from farmers, official sources said here.

The state government has so far suspended 49 officers and employees of PCF, including one regional manager, nine district coordinators and 39 centre in-charges.

The minister directed that the farmers should be paid the minimum support price of Rs 1,285 per quintal.

The government has fixed target of 42 lakh metric tonnes of wheat purchase through 4,500 centres.
