2 arrested for carrying 1700 sulphur wicks in unsafe manner

: Two persons, including a fireworks factory owner, were arrested here today for allegedly transporting 1,700 sulphur wicks in a jeep.

Police said a patrol team intercepted the vehicle carrying the wicks in an usafe manner on the Sadhanandhapuram- Kallicheri road and seized the vehicle.

The duo did not have relevant documents for transporting the wicks, they said

The wicks were being transported to Thathampatti for a fireworks factory.
