2 arrested for possession of cannabis in J-K

Two persons were arrested in Kishtwar district of Jammu and Kashmir today for allegedly possessing 1.7 kg of cannabis, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, the duo was intercepted at Kuleed area of Kishtwar town around 9:30 AM today, they said.

During search, 1.7 kg of cannabis was found in their possession, they said, adding the accused have been taken into custody and the contraband has been seized.

The accused have been identified as 21-year-old Daleep Kumar and 25-year-old Aman Tikoo, both residents of Paddar area of the Kishtwar district, they said.

A case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (NDPS) Act has been registered and further investigation is son, police said.
