2 killed as jeep falls into gorge

Two persons, including a woman, were killed and four others injured today when the jeep they were travelling in fell into a gorge in Chamoli district.

The accident occurred near Meen Gadhera between Narayanbagad and Tharali villages in the district, disaster management officials here informed.

The jeep was on its way from Dehradun to Tharali, they said.

The woman and a teenage boy died on the spot and the injured were admitted to Karnaprayag government hospital, officials said.

The bodies were recovered with the help of locals, they added.
