Jharkhand Agriculture Minister Randhir Singh today said that 25 lakh farmers would be covered under the Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana this year.
"We have already issued directions to all the districts to achieve the target as the first month of the budget have already been completed," Singh said at a press conference here after a review meeting
He said that the government was serious about doubling the farm production to improve the economic condition of farmers.

The minister said that the government has set a target of issuing soil health cards to 5,76,510 farmers this year, of which 2,54,236 have already been issued.
The remaining 3.22 lakh such cards would be distributed before the beginning of cultivation of kharif crops, he said.
