A 25-year-old married woman today allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself from a ceiling fan at her house in Kacha Dalip Nagar area, police said.
The deceased was identified as Harmeet Kaur.
The victim's father, however, alleged that Harmeet in-laws' use to harass her over dowry and they killed her as they could not fulfil their demands.
Police have registered a case against the victim's husband Satinderjit Singh, father-in-law Jarnail Singh and mother-in-law Naib Kaur.
Harmeet had tied nuptial knots with Satinderjit three-and half-year ago. They have a two-and-half-year old son from their marriage.
