Home Minister P Chidambaram today announced the induction of the troopers during his monthly press conference here.
Central Industrial Security Force has deployed about 4,800 personnel, including women personnel and Quick Reaction Team (QRT) commandos, at present to secure almost 200 Metro stations in the national capital region.
"The additional security personnel will be inducted soon in phases," a senior CISF official said.
CISF Director General Rajiv had last week also conducted a review of the security preparedness at Delhi Metro stations. PTI NES
